SEGUNDO STANLEY

The Segundo Stanley Hammond Duo

The Segundo Stanley Hammond Duo was born in 2015 out of a jam session in the intimate, basement testing ground that is Kansas Smitty’s Bar. This breakout show was a sellout and transitioned the duo’s identity from jam band to ensemble. As longtime sidemen with trombonist, Dennis Rollins, Pedro and Ross have rolled thousands of miles together across the UK and abroad. This decade-long friendship and musical bond guarantees their otherworldly and often telepathic performances will leave audiences speechless.

Pedro Segundo is a London-based drummer, timpanist, and percussionist with Dennis Rollins, Kansas Smitty’s House Band, Judith Owen and Academy of St. Martin in the Fields. In 2015, he launched his solo project, Solo Segundo, as a four concert series in the London Jazz Festival

Ross Stanley is a London-based pianist and organist, who has worked with musicians such as Eddie Gomez, Pino Palladino, Seamus Blake, Will Vinson, Dennis Rollins and has toured with Maceo Parker, Tom Jones, Jamie Cullum, Zigaboo Modeliste, Steve Ferrone, Hamish Stuart and Steve Howe to name a few.  Ross is a Hammond endorsee and recently received a British Jazz Award in the Organ Category 2016.

As a Duo they aim to explore the various dimensions that only a one to one conversation can have.

The sonic result it’s an agglomeration of all their traditional and modern influences digging deep swing into completely abstract and unexpected turns!

Needless to say… No show is the same! So should be jazz.
